ELMAG EMF Manufacturing Facility

EMF Equipment Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing

Elmag, Inc. engineers, designs, and manufactures electromagnetic pulse metal forming and assembly equipment or EMF equipment.

Elmag principal staff participated in, and contributed to the development of electromagnetic metal forming equipment and technology from its infancy in the 1960s to the present state-of-the-art.

Our key staff has been involved in EMF Technology:

  • First at General Atomic in San Diego, CA, where the process was originally developed.
  • Then at Maxwell Labs when they bought the product line in 1972.

When Maxwell changed their business focus to concentrate on government research, the Magneform Engineering Staff left in 1981 and founded Elmag, Inc.

Over the decades, Elmag staff have designed and developed a multitude of industrial electromagnetic metal forming (EMF) equipment including existing magneform machines.

Elmag equipment is a new generation of magneform machines which meets all JIC1 specifications and is sold under the trade name MAGNEPULSTM.

The primary customers for EMF equipment are these industries:

Elmag’s dedication to outstanding workmanship has earned us repeated business from the Aerospace Industry.

1 “JIC” stands for “Joint Industrial Council.” A body which oversees and designs the electrical and hydraulic standards for general purpose and mass production machine tools. The Joint Industrial Council supersedes the NMTBA (National Machine Tool Builders’ Association). The JIC standards are one of the most stringent electrical requirements in the industry!
